Supplier Quality Engineer

Essex

Salary up to £40,000 depending on experience

 

Recruit 12 has an exciting opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer to be responsible for ensuring a robust and effective supply chain for the company. Key responsibilities include improving quality, on-time delivery and cost performance through supplier development activities and to Provide overall leadership and direction with external suppliers on problem solving.

Your responsibilities as a Supplier Quality Engineer will include:

  • Develop relationships with suppliers and implement problem-solving and mistake proofing processes.
  • Ensure timely implementation of corrective actions and problem-solving (Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Action Methodologies, Lean, 5 WHYS, 8D, Pareto, etc) on opportunities identified with suppliers.
  • Help develop a supplier quality strategy and coordinate cross-functional activities to achieve supplier quality goals.
  • Participate and provide support of the Quality System.
  • Develop knowledge of and understanding of electric motor products.
  • Utilise the company's internal systems to track supplier non-conformances and communicate and track supplier updates.
  • Facilitate supplier deviation and change requests to ensure the company and suppliers agree on changes requested.
  • Resolve warranty issues involving suppliers and promptly responds to customer concerns and requirements.
  • Provide insight and feedback related to supplier product performance.
  • Perform supplier audits in order to identify opportunities for improvement and lead the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Provide backup and support for internal plant quality team activities as required.

To be a successful candidate as a Supplier Quality Engineer you will need:

  • Bachelor of science degree / HNC in an engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum experience of 5 years in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous engineering experience in a problem solving role
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications
  • Must be available to travel up to 30% of the time
