Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer

Recruit 12 has an exciting opportunity for an SQA Engineer to ensure the management of supplier quality concerns are concluded in a timely manner; you will participate and lead APQP activities; leading problem resolution and other continuous improvement initiatives and activities.

Your responsibilities as an SQA Engineer will include:

  • Lead supplier Quality Assurance activities within the supply chain including: PPAP, process audit and surveillance visits.
  • Lead all activities associated with specific non-conforming product containment incidents, identifying root causes and ensuring robust and rigorous problem resolution utilising such techniques as 8D, RCA etc.
  • Ensure the management of supplier concerns are concluded in a timely manner including verification and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Introducing and utilising a supplier scorecard system for implementing and driving continuous improvement in the supply chain.
  • Supporting the successful implementation and delivery of specific Advanced Production Quality Plans for product Introduction.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure collation and entry of IMDS related data into the OEM MDS system

To be a successful candidate as an SQA Engineer you will need:

  • You will have proven experience gained in a manufacturing Supplier Quality environment, preferably in Aerospace, Defence, Automotive or similar sectors with a HNC/Degree in engineering, technical, or business-related discipline.
  • You will also have experience in the of business improvement tools and techniques (5s, Lean, Kaizen) and using APQP tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of compiling and approving PPAP/FAIR submissions, construction and use of PFMEA’s and Control Plans is essential.
  • Extensive experience in the use of statistical analysis, process capability and problem resolution tools (8D, 5 Why, 6 Sigma etc.) and techniques is a must along with proven knowledge of AS9100, ISO9001, TS16949 (IATF16949), and ISO14001 to comply with company processes. CQI IRCA audit qualification, or significant demonstrable audit experience in one of the aforementioned standards would be a distinct advantage.
