Senior Business Development Manager

Recruit 12 has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Development Manager to collaborate with clientele to successfully secure specifications that suit the clients Glide-On system and ensure we are included in the early design and ER stages with clients and Architects. ‘Surrounding’ the client project team (architects, structural engineers, cost consultants etc) and regularly following up so when the project is ready to be handed over to the sales team at tender stage lots of value has been built for them to leverage in closing the sale.

Closely collaborating with the companies estimators, Director of Client Relations, marketing, and pre-construction where necessary. 

Your responsibilities as a Senior Business Development Manager will include:

  • Initiate new business by seeking out and following up relevant leads and establishing strong relationships with a comprehensive network of appropriate clients.

  • Identify the political map in each potential customer to connect with decision- makers and influencers

  • Ensure customers understand how they can add value to their projects (aesthetic and performance) by including the companies products

  • Ensure the companies PreCon Team have as comprehensive and detailed information as possible

  • Monitor market changes and feedback to the Marketing, Pre-Construction Team

  • Accurately forecast potential Specifications to the Sales Director

  • Prioritise, plan, and reduce travel and service time using Online meetings

    where possible.

    Key Performance Indicators:

  1. Accurate reports and the ability to explain why the numbers have changed over a period.

  2. 50% of enquiries in our pipeline are using our COACH A.I. System

  3. Mandatory handover fields are complete for every handover

To be a successful candidate as a Senior Business Development Manager you will need:

  • Minimum of five G.C.S.E., A Levels preferred
  • Professional qualifications or a degree or diploma in Construction, Business
  • Studies or Sales and Marketing (desired not mandatory)

  • Minimum of two years of internal business development, telephone appointment making or sales executive experience.

  • Experience of selling a technical solution

  • Ideally having experience getting façade products specified and come with your own list of architect, structural engineer, client and main contractor


  • Construction industry especially facades preferred or selling to architects.

  • Experience in selling projects of over £500,000 per order is preferred.

  • Enthusiastic drive with a willingness to grow and adapt.

  • Ability to achieve deadlines and work under pressure

  • Excellent interpersonal skills: able to read people, empathize and respond


  • Great at initiating contact and building rapport with prospects, influencers, and


  • Excellent written, verbal, telephone, Zoom / Teams and in-person

    presentation skills up to client executive level

  • Superb organization skills, both personally and for events

  • Good at triaging the hundreds of enquiries into a short list of live qualified


  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

  • Excellent creative problem-solving skills

  • Computer literate (Excel, Word, Adobe, PowerPoint, CRMs and Publisher)
