A proactive and committed Quality Engineer is required to play a pivotal role within the Quality department. As the Quality Engineer you will be responsible for supporting and implementing business driven quality initiatives by identifying and driving continuous improvements in manufacturing process capability, capacity and product quality.  

In return you will receive a competitive salary of £35,000 to £40,000, plus a rewarding benefits package.

As a Quality Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the customer to ensure any issues are dealt with swiftly & efficiently
  • Evaluating and improving manufacturing processes by; applying knowledge of product design, casting, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Co-ordinating product risk and FMEAs.
  • Evaluating and improving manufacturing processes by; applying knowledge of product design, casting, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Preparing product and process reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Completing design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
  • Assisting the factory to develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
  • This role requires some overseas travel to implement and reinforce the identified

 

To be successful in the role of Quality Engineer, you must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Clear understanding of quality tools such as FMEA, Control plan, MSA, LSA, AAR, SPC etc.
  • Proven problem solver with full understanding of structured problem solving techniques.
  • Full understanding of 6 sigma methodology
  • Good understanding of ISO
  • Working knowledge of SPC and its implementation

This position is based in Nottingham and commutable from, Leicester, Derby, Mansfield and Grantham.
