Recruit12 have an excellent opportunity for an Project Manager to deliver all electrical design elements across projects from requirements specification through to concept, design, implementation, development to manufacture, integration, commissioning, delivery, and operation.

As a Project Manager, your main duties and responsibilties will include: 

  • Helping drive the delivery of large projects or a portfolio of smaller projects to ensure delivery safely, on time, on budget, and meeting business and technical requirements. Monitor and manage the progress of the programme - track progress against milestones, deadlines, budget and provide key stakeholders with updates
  • Working within our project teams to manage engineering contracts within a gated process, from concept through design, procurement and manufacturing to build and commissioning.
  • Anticipating, managing and resolving issues within the project(s).  Identifing risks and facilitate resolution of all issues raised, develop and update the programme budget, and escalating any issues
  • Ensuring that scope, objectives, costs and customer requirements have been appropriately defined and planned at the start of the project and the acceptance criteria are understood and achievable
  • Chairing meetings with clients, suppliers and stakeholders to ensure that key issues are communicated, decisions made, and outcomes achieved
  • Supporting bids, contract negotiation and variations
  • Producing regular reports for customers and managers and communicating key issues, progress, and decisions required
  • Representing the project in internal Monthly Project Reviews and providing reporting and forecast project progress and finances. Identify resource requirements where needed.

 

To be successful as a Project Manager, you will have the following skills and experience: 

  • 3-5 years’ experience as a project manager within an engineering or manufacturing environment safely delivering projects to time, cost and quality
  • Experience of managing single projects from £25k to £10m
  • Delivery of projects through design, manufacturing, build, test and commissioning preferred
  • Previous experience within the nuclear industry would be an advantage but not essential
  • Pro-active and driven, takes responsibility for delivering results, makes informed and timely decisions
  • Intermediate user of Microsoft Project (online preferred) and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.  Able to express complex information in a simple and clear way in a manner appropriate to the audience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, listens and supports team, and builds relationships with colleagues and customers 
  • Exhibit high standards of professional behaviour and attitude at all times
  • Able to work under pressure with good time management and prioritisation skills
