Recruit12 Construction has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic Project Controls Manager to take ownership of our newly created Controls team.

Reporting to the Operations Director where you will ensure the efficient running of the Project Controls department by effectively, ensuring all aspects under its control are managed efficiently and delivering as required.  .

Top three goals

  • Ensure all projects have a baseline programme and all projects are monitored from Sales lead to completion.
  • Ensure robust, accurate, clear and concise progress reporting inclusive of risks and opportunities across multiple projects.
  • Ensure the business Integrated Management System is being followed.

 As a Project Controls Manager your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Provide project controls management, including baseline schedule development and management, performance status and reporting, baseline change control, risk management, earned value management guidance and tools.
  • Advise and consult on the application of effective planning techniques and controls.
  • Support programme integration, governance, formats, plan optimisation, and project controls best practices.
  • Ensuring the Project controls team produce weekly / monthly reports in line with the project and company reporting calendar, providing details on progress, actuals, forecast and explanation of variances.
  • Ensure that project controls processes are consistently applied across the project.
  • Manage governance to ensure robust cost and schedule performance for the agreed Scope of Work across integrated programmes managed across multiple suppliers.
  • Support and advise on the definition of Project Controls and Earned Value Management policies, procedures and the standards required to deliver projects
  • Support the development of requirements for specific resource-loaded schedules.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager, commercial manager and Project QS to maximise the potential of the project.

To be successful as a Project Controls Manager, you must have:

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Monitoring Project Progress against Baseline.
  • Monitor costs and gross profit margins.
  • Compare performance across projects

Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level preferred but not essential.
  • Full UK Driving License; preferably clean

Experience:

  • Experience of working in close liaison with the Project Manager to deliver a range of projects.
  • Monitoring/reporting progress, highlighting any inefficiencies.
  • The ability to forecast problems as early as possible enabling corrective action to be taken.
  • An experienced user of Programming Software.
  • Experience in the implementation of Earned Value Management based Project Control systems, in accordance with relevant national standards.
  • Experience in ensuring all project key deliverables/milestones is achievable.
  • Experience agreeing the procurement timeframes with the Project Team and actively monitor throughout the procurement period.
  • Experience in the preparation of programme project reports.
  • Track record of successful project/programme delivery.
  • Experience of contract management and procurement.
  • Practical ability to utilise critical project management concepts (e.g. EVM, project planning, risk analysis, configuration management.
