£42K DOE including Car Allowance, including private medical, pension, and quarterly bonus

Recruit 12 Construction has an exciting opportunity for a Pre-Construction Design Assistant working for a construction subcontractor who is a specialist within their sector.

The purpose of the role is to join the Pre-Construction division and assist with the submission of the company's solutions at the very early stages of new projects giving the business a commercial advantage to deliver perfectly presented and practical solutions.

Your responsibilities as a Pre-Construction Design Assistant will include:

  • Support other departments to provide design and technical solutions for multifaceted design input including: -

1. Anchor, Arm, and Balcony Sections; Balcony Plans; Arm layouts from technical assessments; General visuals of Balustrade and other elements

2.Other design support as required


  • Create these solutions for project needs by either - Using standard solutions and products; Creating Bespoke solutions based on the company’s product and industry knowledge
  • Work with the Pre-Construction team to provide collaborative responses to technical questions
  • Support the Pre-Construction Manager in delivering a First-Class design support solution for all projects
  • Attend DTM (Design Team Meetings) to assess and understand project needs
  • Provide design support for projects created within Coach by external users where specific IFC and 2D drawings are requested using our Revit models
  • Use templates to provide a standard level of responses when submitting designs and other information
  • Build a detailed understanding of current and planned company products
  • Be part of planning Innovation of the latest ideas or solutions by adding your own input relating to design trends that may be apparent to you
  • Add input to Steering Groups for new products that are becoming more popular or regularly observed in future projects
  • Build on the level of support you offer as the role expands
  • Monthly report on assigned and executed tasks
  • Monthly report on blockers that prevent you from completing tasks so additional support can be considered
  • Monthly NPS and feedback from key stakeholders/management


To be a successful candidate as a Pre-Construction Design Assistant you will need:

  • A degree or equivalent professional qualification in Technical Design or similar would be an advantage
  • Two years, or more, in Computer-Aided Design. (AutoCAD, Revit)
  • Experience using SketchUp would be a benefit
  • Some technical knowledge of fabricated steel and aluminum products & processes will be an advantage
  • Some experience in the construction industry or project-based businesses would be preferred
  • Skilled with AutoCAD, Revit, and other 3D design software
