Recruit12 Construction have a fantastic opportunity for a Commercial/Industrial Surveyor to join an experienced contractor who is based in Cardiff that works within the commercial, public and industrial sectors. The company has been working within these sectors since 2005.

The company have a strong client base and employ over 600 staff operating across the UK and prides itself on always putting the needs of its customers first.

As a Lead Surveyor your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Inspecting properties/buildings for asbestos (management, refurbishment, and demolition surveys)
  • Bulk sampling
  • Working on a broad range of domestic properties
  • Working on a broad range of commercial & industrial properties
  • Assist Technical and Quality manager in carrying out checks and inspections
  • Assisting in mentoring less experienced surveyors
  • Participation in internal quality control schemes
  • Liaising with tenants & clients
  • Quality/ Technical check of survey reports prior to release to client
  • Type survey reports as and when required
  • Undertake other tasks as and when required by management
  • To be impartial when carrying out all aspects of work and therefore should avoid involvement in any activities that would diminish confidence in Consulting competence, impartiality, judgement or operational integrity


To be successful as a Lead Surveyor, you must have:

  • BOHS P402 Proficiency certificate in building surveys and bulk sampling for asbestos
  • At least 5 years’ experience of undertaking surveys of domestic & commercial properties with a variety of ACMs
  • Computer literate – Microsoft
  • Literacy/ spelling and legible handwriting
  • Driving licence
  • Any other BOHS P modules
  • AutoCAD user
  • Degree in related discipline
  • Health and safety qualifications or training certificates, e.g. risk assessment/ manual handling/ working
