Recruit 12 has an exciting opportunity for an Internal Sales Engineer to join their experienced team and provide a link between various areas of the Clients Corporation, the plant and its customers.

Your responsibilities as an Internal Sales Engineer will include:

  • Communicate with customer & sales team to interpret customer & application requirements and clearly define relevant application data.
  • In liaison with the appropriate engineering team select products & develop solutions & proposals of primarily mechanical products to satisfy customer application requirements.
  • Commercially cost & prepare proposal of these solutions to point of negotiation by sales / commercial team Cost estimation
  • Ownership of internal sales process and tools (Sales Force).
  • General liaison with engineering team for each product, family drawing updates.
  • Lead the Change Management process.
  • Pricing control.
  • Input into profitability activities.
  • Component re-sourcing support.
  • Contract reviews, technical handover to quality, purchasing and production teams & project kick-off meetings to ensure the specification is correct prior to supply.
  • Specific projects as required.

 To be a successful candidate as an Internal Sales Engineer you will need:

  • Ideally a mechanical engineering degree or equivalent combination of qualification (HNC/HND) + experience.
  • Some experience of Mechanical systems would be ideal but newly Qualified Engineers are expected to apply
  • Full product training will be provided through a combination of company-produced training courses, on-the-job and via external training providers


Essential skills include:

  • Comfortable with basic calculations & formulae.  
  • The capacity and willingness to develop competence in Driveshafts.
  • Good communication skills.
  • An appreciation of the commercial side of engineering.
  • Solid MS office skills, specifically advanced Exce

Desirable skills include:

  • Ability to qualify and prioritise a wide variety of customer requests and identify and develop commercial opportunity beyond the initial RFQ or technical query.
  • Knowledge of Driveshaft Principles.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems e.g. SAP
  • Ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of internal and external bodies.
  • Proactive approach in building and maintaining partner relationships to create solutions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other business units and functions, to build and maintain positive customer relationships.
