Working for one of the World’s foremost designers, producers and suppliers of hydraulic components, gearboxes to a diverse range of sectors, we are currently seeking;

A Hydraulic Technical Sales/Applications Engineer to join the experienced team of product and applications engineers.

The ideal Hydraulic Technical Sales/Applications Engineer candidate will be comfortable with working to deadlines, results-driven and with a deep interest in helping customers by providing high quality, technically optimised fluid power and mechanical solutions. While office-based, this is a customer interactive role, with significant time spent daily communicating with customers. Opportunities to visit customer sites as part of a technical & commercial team will become more common as the candidate’s experience and skills develop, as well as some opportunity for international travel for training and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Acting as a key technical liaison between manufacturer and customer accounts
  • Producing technical selections, quotations / sales proposals
  • Applications engineering – Reviewing a customer application and offering complete supply of fluid power & potentially mechanical products to a system utilising Dana’s industry-leading product range.
  • Technical support to customers and end-users from enquiry stage through to delivery, installation & operation.

Qualifications & Skills:

The Hydraulic Technical Sales/Applications Engineer candidate should ideally possess a degree or diploma in mechanical engineering or similar, however specific fluid power qualifications and experience in a fluid power technical sales role are just as relevant.

Essential skills include:

  • Comfortable with basic calculations & formulae (BODMAS). Candidates will be tested.
  • Technical selection experience from application or product data.
  • Can follow hydraulic circuit diagrams
  • Broad knowledge of hydraulic products & applications.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • An appreciation of the commercial side of engineering.

Experience:

In order to apply for this Hydraulic Technical Sales/Applications Engineer role, you should ideally have 3+ years in fluid power (hydraulic) industries, preferably working with applications.

Full product training will be provided through a combination of excellent company-produced training courses, on-the-job and via external training providers.

The position of Hydraulic Technical Sales/Applications Engineer is a permanent role and based in Cheshire and easily commutable from Liverpool, Manchester or Chester.
