General Ledger Accountant - Birmingham (West Brom, Sutton, Solihull, Halesowen circle)

A fantastic opportunity has become available to join one of world's leading automotive suppliers as General Ledger Accountant.  This role will be working as part of a wider finance function and will be varied role covering aspects of financial and statutory accounts preparation.  

Salary: £45k Basic + Benefits

Your key responsibilities as General Ledger Accountant will include:

• Responsible for month end activities and month end journal entries - accruals, payroll, prepayments, foreign currency balance revaluations etc and timely reconciliation of all General Ledger accounts
• Forecasting on a monthly basis with detailed forecast at cost centre level
• Responsible for all balance sheet reconciliations are completed in a timely manner
• Financial reporting to group and liaison with US accounting team to assist with group month-end close
• Corporate cost controlling - issuing cost centre reports on a monthly basis
• Monthly bank reconciliations
• Preparation of statutory financial statements of UK for three legal entities 
• Prepare and submit monthly tax preparation work including VAT, EC Sales, Intrastat for the UK

To be successful in the role of General Ledger Accountant, you will have the following skills & experience:

• ACA or ACCA Qualified / part qualified or equivalent
• You will ideally be a fully qualified Accountant, but consideration will be given if you have a strong technical financial accounting background 
• You may have qualified in practice or industry, but must have post-qualification experience in industry for 2 years+
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications

This position is based in Birmingham and is easily commutable from Sutton Coldfield, Solihull, Coventry
