Recruit12 Construction has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic Business Development Manager.  You will be a very strong communicator who is able to take ownership for a project and bring it across the line, having influenced them on the USP’s of our product and service. 

Work diligently to increase our conversion ratio and hunt down every deal we can so that the growth plans of the company are achieved.  Emphasis on but not limited to, presenting, phoning, strategic planning, and management of your own pipeline.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Monitor all new revenue brought into the business
  • Monitor all new consultants and ITT’s
  • Monitor all new leads brought by referral brought into the business

Top three goals

  1. Target of £5M of new business revenue
  2. Develop relationship with five new consultants, resulting in Invitation to Tenders
  3. Five Qualified Leads achieved by referral from existing client base

As a Business Development Manager your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Leading and supporting members of the Sales team with following up existing client base and sales pipeline

General tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Following up inactive / budget sales pipeline leads
  • Referral work leveraging on existing client base, seeking new contacts to connect with via referral
  • Building relationships with target audience providing key route to market generating repeat business
  • Preparation for and representation at exhibitions.
  • Administration of HubSpot CRM system – create deals, input sales info, cleanse data
  • Monitoring and managing sales inbox on Outlook, forwarding emails to relevant departments
  • Attendance at sales meetings with the expectation of giving a key input and guiding others.  
  • Assistance in preparing for and delivering presentations
  • Assist with taking inbound calls when necessary
  • Ownership and management of our Sales Database, including regular review and cleansing ensuring the accuracy of data.
  • Look for and suggest any improvements in the Sales activities and the implementation of strategies
  • Your duties may vary from time to time within the broad remit of your role and grade. You are required to undertake any such reasonable and appropriate duties.

To be successful as a Business Development Manager, you must have:

  • Full driving license, preferably clean
  • Formal sales training would be beneficial
  • Experience in using a sales pipeline and managing it through the process
  • Minimum three year’s progressive sales experience in the construction industry, or a comparable business-to-business products and services related enterprise
  • Proven experience achieving or exceeding targets
  • Recognized certification in sales or customer service, or a combination of education and work experience
  • Demonstrable experience in negotiating and closing sales agreements
  • Proven experience and success in telephone and in-person sales
  • Proven ability to deal with challenging customers; able to cope with and manage rejections
  • Highly effective communicator and influencer at all levels
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Excellent time management and planning skills
  • An ability to understand the broader picture of business operations beyond sales.
  • An ability to influence key decision makers on the products usp’s
  • An ability to keep yourself accountable based on performance
