Advanced Automation Engineer

Recruit 12 has an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Automation Engineer to be part of our rapidly expanding engineering team, supporting the business’ new automation strategy in a dynamic work environment.

Your responsibilities as an Advanced Automation Engineer will include:

• Defining and leading the setup of medium and high-volume production environments and the development of control systems to ensure production is conducted safely, on time and on budget whilst ensuring best practice is adhered to.
• Defining equipment specifications required to achieve the production requirements.
• Defining software standards and templates. 
• Sourcing and appointment of suppliers to establish a robust and capable supply base for automation equipment.
• Developing Functional, Detailed and Software Design Specifications.
• Supporting FAT, SAT and commissioning of new equipment.
• In conjunction with the Manufacturing Manager and the Advanced Automation Team develop designs, processes, systems, methodology, standards, training and pilots in the areas of: o Robotic Systems o AGVs o PLC o SCADA o IOT
• Training and mentoring of junior Engineers

To be a successful candidate as a Advanced Automation Engineer you will need:

• Substantial experience gained in a mid / high volume manufacturing / production assembly environment.
• Extensive knowledge of mid / high volume automation tools and techniques.
• Wide-ranging experience in specification and standards development.
• Knowledge of modern PLC systems and robotics systems.
• Industrial networking and IOT knowledge is desirable.
• Experience of contractor control and supervision.
• Be a team player with the ability to work under own initiative, with an ability to inspire others by demonstrating a positive “can do” attitude.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills along with the ability to work at pace in a multiproject environment.
